Happy Camper Acne Fighting Water Kefir Smoothie
This recipe features three mighty ingredients to help improve acne, and turn you into a Happy Camper. Strawberries have natural anti-inflammatory properties and help lower C-reactive proteins, making them powerful allies for helping to reduce acne. Oranges and many other orange coloured foods are hailed to help clear up acne prone skin. Spinach is also high in vitamin C and antioxidants. Together, these ingredients fight free radicals that cause skin damage and can lead to breakouts.
ACNE FIGHTING SMOOTHIE RECIPE
MAKES: about 2 cups
juice and pulp of one orange
3 strawberries diced
1 cup spinach
2-3 medium sized basil leaves (cilantro is also delicious as a substitute in this recipe)
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1.5 cup first ferment water kefir
Optional- 1 scoop of protein powder and/or 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey
- Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
- Combine all the ingredients and blend for about 30 seconds.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy!
