Apple picking season is upon us and fresh pressed apple juice takes me back to a time when my family would have apple juice pressing parties at our house. It was a yearly highlight for us kids! My dad was a carpenter and built an apple press. Friends and relatives would arrive with truck loads of boxes of apples and they would spend the day running the apple press. Apples are a great source of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, and also have good carbohydrates – everything your body needs for a quick energy boost. Water kefir is brimming with electrolytes to give you the added get up and go!
Here’s what happens when you drink fresh pressed apple juice: The carbohydrates break down into a sugar called glucose and enter your bloodstream (where they are termed “blood sugar”). That sugar travels to your cells, where it’s turned into energy for your body.

Water Kefir Soda
1/4 cup fresh pressed apple juice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
optional 5 pieces candied ginger
