Fresh Pressed Apple Juice and Cinnamon Water Kefir Soda Recipe

Did you know that apples are the top fruit for natural energy boosting?Apples are a great source of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, and also have good carbohydrates – everything your body needs for a quick energy boost. Water kefir is brimming with electrolytes to give you the added get up and go! Water kefir with apple juice as the base fits that bill. It ranks low on what’s called the Glycemic Index (GI), which is a measure of how quickly foods raise your blood sugar. And while the apple water kefir soda may not replace your regular coffee routine all  together, it offers a healthier alternative to staying awake.

Energy Boosting Fresh Pressed Apple Juice and Cinnamon Recipe

MAKES: about 4 cups

INGREDIENTS:

4 cups first ferment

1/4 fresh pressed apple juice

1/2 tsp cinnamon

opt. 5 pieces candied ginger

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
  • Strain the grains and add the ingredients to the green swivel top bottle with the first ferment water kefir.
  • Seal up the green swivel top bottle and leave it in a warm place for 24 hours for the second ferment.
  • Open slowly, strain and enjoy!

NEED TO KNOW:

Refrigerate immediately. It can last there for up to 8 weeks before it turns to vinegar.
