Pomegranate has arrived!
Christmas is a magical time with cozy fires and twinkly lights so why not introduce some aphrodisiac fruit to spark a little romance?
Apparently Love foods that stimulate desire are prized in cultures worldwide and pomegranates are one of the top fruits.
The word aphrodisiac originates with the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, and she is credited in Greek mythology with planting the first pomegranate tree. Because of their many seeds, pomegranates are often associated with fertility and abundance. The pomegranate appears as a romantic symbol in sonnets and literature dating back centuries. Apparently drinking pomegranate juice daily lowers cortisol levels, which can correspond with increased testosterone in both men and women. Elevated testosterone can lead to heightened moods and increased sexual desire.
The best way to eat a pomegranate is with the seed and all. They’re loaded with fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K and potassium but it takes time and patience to work your way through them. If you opt for just buying the POM juice (made from pomegranate seeds) apparently it has been shown to have antioxidant activity three times higher than red wine and green tea!
Beware of added sugars and fillers
Please note that you have to be aware when you are buying pomegranate juice that you are buying 100 percent pure pomegranate juice because many are actually made from pomegranates plus other filler fruits — or worse, added sugar!

Making pomegrante water kefir soda is extra simple and very tasty!
Some of you can experiment by adding cinnamon, vanilla or blueberries but keeping it straight forward is very subtle and refreshing.
Will you ever look at pomegranates the same again? LOL
FRISKY POMEGRANATE WATER KEFIR SODA
Make the first ferment with the grains and the sugar and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
Strain the grains and add the following to your second ferment.
1/4 cup 100 % pure pomegranate juice or 1/2 cup mashed fresh pomegranate seeds and juice.
Seal up the green swivel top bottle and leave it in a warm place for 24 hours for the second ferment.
Open slowly. Strain and enjoy!
