Vanilla Plum Thyme Water Kefir Soda Recipe
Dried plums, commonly known as prunes, are concentrated in flavour and sugar content and achieve a deeper flavour than fresh plums. They are packed with antioxidants and vitamin C and they make a very tasty soda which also works as a gentle laxative.
VANILLA PLUM THYME RECIPE
MAKES: about 4 cups
4 cups first ferment
1/2 cup fresh plums finely chopped or 1/4 prune juice or 3 tbsp dried prunes
1 generous sprig of fresh thyme or 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. vanilla
- Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
- Strain the grains and add the ingredients to the green swivel top bottle with the first ferment water kefir.
- Seal up the green swivel top bottle and leave it in a warm place for 24 hours for the second ferment.
- Open slowly, strain and enjoy!
NEED TO KNOW:
Both plums and thyme will aid your bowels on their way to making a smooth move. LOL! We suggest you start with 1/2 cup per day and slowly increase your intake.
