Honey Lemon Ginger Water Kefir Smoothie

Honey, lemon and ginger are already the perfect combination to give your immune system a boost. When paired with water kefir these ingredients work together to create a tasty and beneficial smoothie.

Honey Lemon Ginger Immunity Smoothie

INGREDIENTS:

2 tbsp raw honey

1-2 tbsp fresh grated ginger (or 1/2 tsp ground)

3/4 tsp ground turmeric (1tbsp fresh grated)

1 cup loose spinach

1/2 cup first ferment water kefir

1/2 fresh squeezed lemon

5 chunks frozen pineapple

Optional: add protein powder of your choice

For thickness add 1 cup ice.

DIRECTIONS

Make the first ferment water kefir and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.

Strain the grains, and measure out 1/2 cup of first ferment for the smoothie recipe. First ferment can be kept in the fridge for up to 14 days, or you can move on to the second ferment to flavour and carbonate it.

Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into a glass, and enjoy!
