Heart health, water kefir, strawberries and rhubarb all connect together. The probiotics in water kefir alone can help your heart. But what about if you wanted to supercharge your water kefir smoothie? Strawberries are natural anti-inflammatories and rhubarb is full of antioxidants.
Rhubarb Strawberry Smoothie
1 cup spinach
2-3 sprigs thyme
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 stalk rhubarb
1 tsp honey
1.5c first ferment water kefir
optional- 1 scoop of protein powder
- Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
- Strain the grains, and measure out 1.5 cup of first ferment for the smoothie recipe. First ferment can be kept in the fridge for up to 14 days, or you can move on to the second ferment to flavour and carbonate it.
- Add ice. Blend and enjoy!
