Happy Gut Water Kefir Brewery Manager 

Happy Gut launched in 2017 and has now grown into a thriving and ever-expanding water kefir brewery and we are hiring a brewer that wants to grow with us!


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 
20 hours per week with opportunity for full time employment.

 
ANTICIPATED START DATE

LOCATION 
Castlegar BC. 


WORK SETTING
Happy Gut Brewery 

WAGE – $18 for first 3 months

Key Responsibilities:

• Brew water kefir in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
• Measure and document ingredients, sources, lot numbers, pH readings, etc.

• Ensure adherence to and compliance with Food Safety and Sanitation Plans
• Clean and sanitize fermentation vessels & brewery
• Keep inventory of raw ingredients, packaging materials and finished products
• Bottle and package water kefir drinks and all products

• Direct and manage production staff
• Deliver water kefir within the West Kootenay area and record sales receipts
• Build strong relationships with accounts by providing consistent, excellent customer service
• Perform and complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required
• Exercise extreme discretion when dealing with all proprietary information at all times

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Must have interest in water kefir brewing and fermentation
• Ability to strictly follow SOPs and product recipes

• Ability to maintaining attention to detail and excellence in production

• Highly organized and able to develop and install efficient procedures

• Strong logistics, record keeping and time management skills

• Ability to manage and lead other production staff

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work independently

• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• Be proactive in learning and staying up to date in production and troubleshooting methods
• General computer knowledge / skills
• Strong personal hygiene and cleanliness

Essential Job Functions:

• Stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping
• Frequent lifting with hands and arms and frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation

Experience:

• Experience in a brewery, winery, kitchen, food manufacturing or production a strong asset but not required, willing to train the right person

Required License or Certification:

• Driver’s License
• Food Safe Level 1 (not required to apply but must obtain if hired)
