Have you ever found your water kefir turning cloudy and smelling like stinky socks?

Then your brewing environment is too warm and your yeast has gone out of whack and it’s best not to drink it.

To get your grains back into balance, you need to put your grains into water and put them into the fridge without any sugar. Just plain water.

Leave them there for at least 2 weeks. They need time to reset and get hungry.

After 2 weeks, try fermenting again and put them into a cooler fermentation spot.

It may take longer for them to ferment but the yeast will stay in check.

If you continue to have cloudy water kefir, you may have to purchase new grains.
