The time that follows New Years can feel a little anti-climactic. Let this Orange Vanilla water kefir soda recipe help wash away your winter blues! Not only does is taste just like a childhood favourite, but it’s full of vitamin C, too.
1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
1 tsp pure vanilla extract (we love Mexican vanilla like this one)
4 cups first ferment
Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
Add orange juice and vanilla to a clean and sanitized swivel top bottle.
Strain the grains, and top up the bottle with first ferment.
Seal the lid, and gently shake upside down a few times to ensure ingredients are well mixed.
Leave it in a warm place for 24 hours for the second ferment.
Burp every 8 hours to ensure there isn’t an overflow.
Refrigerate until well chilled, then enjoy!
