The background story on this recipe is ironic.
I had a photo shoot scheduled with my photographer Annika and when she showed up, she walked in the door and I had absolutely nothing ready and no inspiration for how we were going to do our shoot. I just got home from a finance meeting and my brain was fried! Numbers are not my forte.
The last thing I felt like doing was a photo shoot.
She walked in the door and looked exactly like me. Exhausted! It was pouring rain out and really not a good day to shoot photos but we had to get them done.
We begrudgingly got to work and pulled out some cutting boards and began making our photo arrangements. Suddenly I looked outside and it had stopped raining so we decided to go outside and shoot. (I’m not a fan of indoor pics-that’s what everyone does and Happy Gut is not like everyone 😉
We scouted out some locations and started doing our set ups. Much to our surprise, some of the most gorgeous pictures we have EVER done began to appear on her camera!
Suddenly we both perked up and the entire shoot went beautifully! Isn’t that the way life goes. Things really can change in an instant if you give it a chance.
Live life with no expectations and all will be well!
Just when I thought my creative juices were going downhill, this shot appeared!

Water Kefir Soda Recipe
Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
Strain the grains and add the following to your second ferment.
1/4 cup Raspberries fresh or frozen
1/4 cup Mango fresh or frozen
Add to the green swivel top bottle with the first ferment water kefir.
Seal up the green swivel top bottle and leave it in a warm place for 24 hours for the second ferment.
Open slowly, strain and enjoy!
Refrigerate immediately and it can last there for up to 8 weeks before it turns to vinegar.
