Vanilla Plum Water Kefir Soda Recipe

Plums are a fall favourite, so why not use them to flavour your water kefir soda. This soda is rich in flavour, and in colour as well.

VANILLA PLUM THYME RECIPE

MAKES: about 4 cups

INGREDIENTS:

4 cups first ferment

1/2 cup fresh plums finely chopped or 1/4 prune juice or 3 tbsp dried prunes

1 generous sprig of fresh thyme or 1/4 tsp. dried thyme

1/4 tsp. vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
  • Strain the grains and add the ingredients to the swivel top bottle with the first ferment water kefir.
  • Seal up the bottle and leave it in a warm place for 24 hours for the second ferment.
  • Open slowly, strain and enjoy!

NEED TO KNOW:

Both plums and thyme will work as a gentle laxative. We suggest you start with 1/2 cup per day and slowly increase your intake.
