This Blackberry Rosemary Lemonade Water Kefir Soda is a beautiful way to toast the final berries of summer.

Deep, juicy blackberries bring that sweet-tart berry flavour we wait all season for, while fresh lemon juice adds brightness and a classic lemonade feel. The rosemary is what makes this one extra special. Its piney notes cut nicely through the tart, sweet blackberry-lemon combo, giving this homemade water kefir soda a fresh garden finish.

Our blackberry bushes were literally dripping with berries this year: fat, juicy, and impossible to get enough of. As the season winds down, I wanted to share one last recipe to toast the final berries of summer.

It is always a little bittersweet watching the growing season slow down. The basil has slowed down significantly with the cooler nights, but it is still hanging in there.

This blackberry rosemary lemonade water kefir feels like that exact moment in a glass: still bright and summery, but with a cozy herbal note that hints at the season changing.

If you love homemade water kefir recipes that are fruity, tart, and a little unexpected, this is such a lovely second ferment to try. It is refreshing, naturally probiotic-rich, and full of flavour from real fruit, fresh lemon, and garden rosemary.

Why You’ll Love This Blackberry Rosemary Lemonade Water Kefir

Blackberries give this water kefir soda a gorgeous deep berry colour and a rich, juicy flavour. They pair beautifully with lemon, which keeps the drink bright, fresh, and lightly tart.

Fresh rosemary adds a savoury herbal note that makes the soda feel grown-up and garden-inspired. A little goes a long way, but it brings such a lovely balance to the blackberry and lemon.

Together, blackberry, rosemary, and lemon make a refreshing fermented drink that is perfect for late summer, early fall, or any time you want a homemade probiotic soda with a little extra character.

A Fresh Berry Soda With a Garden Finish

This Blackberry Rosemary Lemonade Water Kefir Soda is simple to make, but it tastes special. The blackberries bring the sweetness, the lemon brings the brightness, and the rosemary brings that fragrant, piney finish that makes you want another sip.

It is a beautiful way to use the last fresh blackberries of the season, especially if you have garden berries that are begging to be enjoyed before cooler nights settle in.
