Blood Moon Hibiscus Lime Water Kefir Soda

Type: Soda, Autumn/Winter

Flavour: Fruity

Benefits: antioxidants, dairy-free, gut health, immunity

Halloween drinks have a habit of being sweeter than they are spooky. This one is different.

Blood Moon Hibiscus Lime Water Kefir Soda is deep ruby red, tart and refreshing. Dried hibiscus gives it a dramatic blood-like colour and a tangy flavour similar to cranberry, while fresh lime keeps everything bright. A little honey balances the tartness and gives the second ferment the extra sugar it needs to build fizz.

It looks wonderfully moody poured over ice, but there are no artificial colours or complicated ingredients hiding in the bottle. You only need hibiscus, lime and honey to turn your first ferment water kefir into a naturally colourful probiotic soda for Halloween weekend.

As the hibiscus steeps during the second ferment, the colour deepens from pink-red to a rich blood moon ruby. It is festive, easy to make and just eerie enough to earn a place at the Halloween table.

Why You’ll Love This Hibiscus Lime Water Kefir Soda

This homemade water kefir recipe delivers plenty of visual drama with very little effort. Hibiscus and lime create a bold sweet-tart flavour, while honey softens the sharper edges without making the finished soda overly sweet.

It is also a refreshing change from heavy fall flavours. Instead of cinnamon and spice, you get bright citrus, cranberry-like tang and lively natural bubbles. Plus, it's a delicious, beautiful, and healthy choice to make over alchohol for Halloween get togethers!
