Cranberry Ginger Ale Water Kefir Soda

Type: Soda, Autumn/Winter

Flavour: Seasonal

Benefits: antioxidants, dairy-free, gut health, immunity, indigestion

It’s cranberry harvest season in BC, and those bright red berries are arriving just as the mornings turn colder and we start craving bolder, spicier flavours.

Fresh cranberries are unapologetically tart. That is exactly what makes them so good in water kefir. Pair them with sweet, spicy candied ginger and you get a homemade Cranberry Ginger Ale Water Kefir Soda that is crisp, lively and beautifully balanced.

The cranberries give the soda its gorgeous ruby colour and sharp fruit flavour, while the candied ginger adds sweetness, warmth and a proper ginger ale kick. The sugar coating on the ginger also gives the water kefir what it needs to build plenty of natural fizz during the second ferment.

This one feels festive without being reserved for the holidays. It is refreshing enough for any fall afternoon and pretty enough to serve when friends come over.
