LAVENDER LEMONADE WATER KEFIR SODA RECIPE
MAKES: about 4 cups
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups of first ferment
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon lavender buds
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
- Strain the grains and add the ingredients to the swivel top bottle with the first ferment water kefir.
- Seal up the swivel top bottle and leave it in a warm place for 24 hours for the second ferment.
- Open slowly, strain and enjoy!
NEED TO KNOW:
Lavender can quickly become very overbearing in a beverage. It is best to start with a small amount and add more on a second batch if you like.
Refrigerate immediately.
Use organic lavender when brewing your water kefir to avoid harmful pesticides and chemicals, while maximizing the natural flavors, aromas and health benefits it offers.
It may take a bit longer for the carbonation to build since there is almost no sugar added to the second ferment.
