CHERRY CHOCOLATE WATER KEFIR SMOOTHIE
MAKES: about 2 cups
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups first ferment water kefir
1/2 cup fresh cherries (pitted) or 1/4 cup cherry juice
1 tbsp finely grated (or melted) 70-90% dark chocolate
1 small dried date or 1 tsp honey
1 cup spinach
Optional: 1 scoop protein powder
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Make the first ferment and leave the jar in a warm place for 24-48 hours.
- Strain the grains, and measure out 2 cups of first ferment for the smoothie recipe. First ferment can be kept in the fridge for up to 14 days, or you can move on to the second ferment to flavour and carbonate it.
- Add the ingredients to the blender.
- Blend & enjoy!
